Wednesday, 9/21 - Finish Absolutism reading and questions. Watch DiscEd video, King Louis XIV. Log in to DiscEd using wcp(student#). The video is in your assignments. As you watch the video, write down 8-10 facts (complete sentences) on pg. 6 in your INB. When finished read, Reign of Louis XIV. Read and annotate. Answer questions after reading.
Homework: Study for exploration/colonization re-test on Friday. We did not get to the Reign of Louis reading today. We will do it in class tomorrow.
Thursday, 9/22 - Students completed the Reign of Louis reading and questions.
Friday, 9/23 - Exploration/Colonization retake. Read, A Day in the Life of Louis XIV. Create cartoon of a day in life.
Monday, 9/26 - Work on Louis XIV cartoon. Frederick the Great (Prussia) article, questions and response. You can use the websites below to learn more about Frederick the Great.
Wednesday, 9/28 - Collect Frederick the Great questions and response. Start Meeting of the Minds mini project. Click on the link below to start your research.
Thursday, 9/29 - Join Google classroom. Continue research on Absolute monarch.
Friday, 9/30 - Early Release. Worked on Meeting of the Minds.
Monday, 10/24 - Finish Absolutism assignment - Meeting of the Minds. Go to Google Classroom and click on the research links to finish questions. Paragraph must be submitted online in GCR.
Tuesday, 10/25 - Students worked on finishing the research and paragraph for the Absolute monarch assignment. When finished, students read about the Enlightenment and Scientific Revolution and completed 2 column notes. Both assignments are due on Thursday. Mrs. Epps is coming to class tomorrow for a lesson; therefore, no more class time will be given for these two assignments.
Friday, 11/4 - Enlightened despots (monarchs) assignment can be found at www.sascurriculumpathways.com. The user name is toward53note. Search enlightened monarchs. Complete the chart while researching the monarchs and their policies regarding slavery, government, religious tolerance, and the justice system. Once you complete the research, you need to decide which monarch you think was the most enlightened.
